A Plan of Action

Dan Chavez
05/27/2002

One of the many translations of the old alchemical text, "The Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus" reads in part, "It is true, certain and without lie that which is above is like that which is below and that which is below is like that which is above, to accomplish a great work." For purposes of this discussion I would like to paraphrase this to, "It is true, certain and without lie that the liberal media will come down, thus we will accomplish our great work."

In order to carry out an effective plan of action against the liberal media, three things will be required. First, an absolute conviction in the justness of our cause. Second, an understanding of the techniques our enemy uses as the prime element in the liberal Democratic coalition and third, increasing the public's awareness of tactics which can be utilized against them. These tactics can be both individual and collective, with results being, in the long run, cumulative and should eventually lead to the destruction of the liberal media as a significant force and influence in the making and shaping of public policy.

CCRM as the 'Man of LaMancha' leads the people against media biasThis may appear to be a very tall order, to take on what appears to be some of the most powerful organizations in America today. However, at this time their power and influence is already rapidly diminishing. The circulation of many large newspapers is shrinking. The big three network's share of TV viewer ship is smaller than it was even a decade or so ago, and this is causing much alarm especially with the network's news divisions. New technologies with an expanding number of cable, satellite and internet venues are eliminating the monopoly of information, which the liberal media had in years past.

Rather than being all-powerful behemoths, they are hidebound and, due to their pride and intellectual arrogance, are completely incapable of any self-correcting action on their own part, because they will not admit that their loss of market share is in any way due to popular disgust of their biases. They prefer to blame their losses on competition alone. An entity or organization, which refuses to admit and correct its mistakes, soon perishes.

Individually, one of the best tactics to use against the media is to financially boycott them by refusing to give money to any liberal media venue or it's parent or subsidiary organizations. For example, NBC is owned by General Electric. Educate yourself as to who owns what and refuse to provide them with financial support. Encourage your friends and family to do likewise.

As far as collective action goes, there are many groups that have been villainized, maligned or castigated by the liberal media. Rather than taking part in actions against the media as individual and unrelated organizations they could form within themselves the equivalent of "Committees of Correspondence" similar to those the colonialists used against the British as a way to co-ordinate the actions of the members of each organization. The efforts which might be co-coordinated could range from a far-reaching boycott to publicity campaigns exposing media bias, to lobbying governmental representatives to open up the publicly owned airwaves by means of a lottery or competitive bidding by proving to their satisfaction that the current users are not acting in the "public interest" by virtue of their consistent bias.

The power of the liberal media is already waning but this process can and should be hastened. There are multitudinous examples of media bias to provide every activist on our side ample motivation and examples to use against them. Current and future expansions in the number of information venues will continue make our job easier. By unifying with others of like mind in collective action, we can magnify our efforts so we will be more effective in bringing down the liberal media.
