This week's media bias outrage of the week comes to us from B.W. of Tennessee. He writes "A story released by Associated Press on Sunday, July 8th, revealed that a man by the name of a man by the name of Christopher Reardon was being charged with 130 counts of rape and molestation in what has proven to be the largest case of its kind in Massachusetts' history. He was identified as a 'youth minister, Boy Scout leader, and YMCA swim coach'. "In CBS Radio news coverage of this story on Monday afternoon, they conveniently failed to mention Mr. Reardon's affiliation with the Boy Scouts, choosing rather to emphasize his as a 'youth minister'. "This is an OUTRAGE! I'm of the opinion that CBS deliberately chose to ignore the Boy Scout connection, because it would cause people to question the true purpose of the assault on the Boy Scouts by the media and the sodomite lobby. If the media is able to top this OUTRAGE during the course of the coming week, we're in even bigger trouble than I thought!" How true! Thanks, B.W.! A little research showed that neither CBS nor NBC found it worthwhile to mention the Boy Scout connection. ABC, in this case, chose to report all the facts. Notice, too, that the lamestream media is cheerfully willing to let us know that someone preaching the gospel could be dangerous. Yet they are reluctant to arm the public with any troublesome facts concerning pedophiles who prey on Boy Scouts. This could lead to gay-bashing and other forms of intolerance. Is there really any good reason for "tolerance" toward pedophiles? I have a few more questions for CBS and NBC:

Send your suggestion to outrage@fairpress.org! Each week, one hideous example of media bias will be selected for closer examination. Hmmmmmm . . . |
