ABC News Seeks Anecdotal Evidence of Global Warming

Posted in ABC News (RSS)

ABC News wants to know how global warming is affecting your life. It sounds like a joke. It ought to be a joke.

Witnessing the impact of global warming in your life?
ABC News wants to hear from you. We're currently producing a report on the increasing changes in our physical environment, and are looking for interesting examples of people coping with the differences in their daily lives.

Of course, whether or not these "changes" are due to global warming is highly subjective. What sort of examples are they looking for?

The differences can be large or small - altered blooming schedules, unusual animals that have arrived in your community, higher water levels encroaching on your property.

Oh, well, gee whiz! My yellow cats claw vine bloomed almost a month early this year! And the bearded irises really went all out. Sensible gardeners know that a little thing like altering time or method of fertilizing, extra rainfall, or even pruning surrounding limbs to allow more light could cause these mysterious changes.

It is extraordinarily far-reaching to claim that global warming is the cause of any particular bit of weirdness on the part of Mother Nature. It's like blaming the unexplained on witchcraft! And most outrageous is that the elitists at ABC News think ordinary Americans are silly enough to swallow their weak anecdotal evidence as "proof".
