More from the Loonie Left

In recent days two members of the loonie left have come forward to share their wisdom. I found that their words speak for themselves:

  • "The real terrorist threats are George W. Bush and his band of brown-shirted thugs." - Sandra Bernhard, 02/25/2002, during an online chat, More
  • About President Bush and his post-9/11 performance: "It's pretty dismal and pretty scary." "Any thinking person who lives in the world would be disturbed at what's going on right now. I think Bush is amateurish and self-serving, and frankly it's disgusting. I think everybody is covering their [posteriors] with the Enron scandal and it was very convenient that Sept. 11 came along to deflect the fact that they should never have been in the White House in the first pace. What happened in the election was completely corrupt." - Sandra Bernard, 03/08/2002, during an interview with Lloyd Grove of the Washington Post, More
  • "I know that's a harsh thing to say, perhaps, but I believe that what happened in 2000 [Florida vote recounts] did as much damage to the pillars of democracy as terrorists did to the pillars of commerce in New York City." - Alec Baldwin, 03/06/2002, during a speech at pro-affirmative action rally at Florida A&M University, More
  • "When Donald Rumsfeld and the Pentagon spokespeople say to you, 'Well, this is going to be a long war, we're going to be in Afghanistan for the long haul,' what that euphemism means is that the moratorium on the criticizing the government must be extended longer and longer and longer - ideally, beyond the 2002 election." - Alec Baldwin, 03/06/2002, same event
